Stress Relief Games – Stop Stress Playing on Your Mind
There are plenty of relaxation techniques for you to try, but one of the most fun ways is stress relief games. This may not even be an option that you’ve considered, but it does make a lot of sense. It doesn’t take too much of your time to do, and could well be cheaper than investing in yoga classes, or a gym membership that you’re never going to get much use out of.
Stress Relef Games – On Your Computer and Smart Phone
Of course, you don’t have to spend hours playing a computer game to get relaxing benefits out of the session. In fact, spending hours playing on a computer or any other sort of game may have completely the opposite effect. You need to find something that’s quick, simple, and distracts your attention long enough for your brain to start to calm down.
There are plenty of games that you can buy that will have the desired effect, but you can just as easily find a site online that has ‘silly’ little flash-based games that will do the same thing, the big advantage being that they will cost you little to nothing to play. Most of these games take minutes to play, and that can be all the time that you need to lose some of that stress that has been building up.
If you have a smart phone, you’ll find there are small games that you can download that will distract you in your time of need, too. These games may cost you about a dollar to buy, but it’s going to be worth it for the benefits, right? If you’re stuck in traffic, or are on public transport, and find that you’re no closer to your destination, then relieve stress with games on your phone.
Non-electronic Stress Relief Games
Stress relief games, however, don’t have to be electronic; just think back to all of those ‘executive stress toys’ that were so popular a few years ago. If you have enough time, a deck of cards, and some desk space, you can enjoy a game of patience. Playing cards at work will generally get you in trouble, though, so be careful if this is your chosen way to relieve stress with games.
Active Stress Relief Games with Friends
Maybe you’re not really a fan of cards and electronic games; so, what about getting some of your friends
together, and heading on a paintballing session? This can be a great way to be part of a group, and take some of your aggression out on them. These sorts of stress relief games are such a good way of doing something physical, that’s also distracting from the stressful problems that you have. Yoga is good, but sometimes you just want to be able to shoot friends with little balls of paint.
Of course, most other types of sports that you can play are going to be relieving stress; depending on just how seriously you take the competition, that is. They will stop you from thinking of your problems, but you may start to feel stress from the game; it can be a fine balance when using these types of relaxation techniques.
… and Finally
If you want to relieve stress with games, you’re going to have to start by looking at the situation that you’re in at the time. If you’re near a computer, then try out the free games online. If you’re stuck in traffic, and have a smart phone, play games on that. If you’re at home, with some time to spare, get a few friends together, and play some group games. If they’re physical games, they may be the sort of stress relief games that are going to get the energy pumping, and release the brains endorphins that help to wash away the feelings of stress.
